André BIZETTE-LINDET (1906-1998). Le chant de la Sirène. Circa 1930. Bronze print with black patina. Signed "A. BIZETTE ". Cast in lost wax. Stamp of the Susse frères foundry (at the back) " Susse cire perdue Paris ". D. : 55 x 30 x 30 cm. Grand Prix de Rome in 1931, Bizette-Lindet goes to Rome until 1935, at the Villa Médicis, then under the direction of Paul Landowsky. On his return to France, he produced numerous works sculpted in various materials. He was commissioned to create figures to decorate the bronze doors of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris for the International Exhibition in 1937. During this period, he frees the forms that bear witness to Bourdelle's legacy. He took part in the decoration of the French Embassy in Ottawa (Japan), and responded to several commissions: the master hotel of Rouen Cathedral in 1955, Monument to Marshal Leclerc (Le Mans, France, placing Franklin Roosevelt) and bas-reliefs on the facades of buildings in Chambéry and Saint-Malo. An important retrospective was devoted to him in 1984 at the Musée de la Marine (Paris).
