Asterix and Cleopatra.

Original plate n°3.

Original plate n°3 in two parts and including nine vignettes.

India ink on paper and white gouache highlights.

Edifis, Cleopatra's architect, arrives in the Gallic village and asks for help to Getafix.

Vignette 1 : Daily life in the little Gaulish village under the snow with Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix returning from hunting wild boar.

Panels 2 and 3 : Arrival of Edifis in the Gaulish village and asking to speak to Getafix.

Panel 4 : Panoramix's mythical answer and pun "It's an alexandrine".

Vignettes 5, 6, and 7 : Edifis expresses his fear of the scale of the work and asks Getafix for help.

Vignettes 8 and 9 : Getafix agrees to help Edifis and decides to go with him to Egypt to help him. Asterix and Obelix join the trip.

This is a superb plate in which we find the main characters of the comic strip: Asterix, Obelix, Dogmatix and Getafix.

Signed on the lower right, titled on the lower left and annotated on the bottom.

On the back of the plate 3 VI A, handwritten mention " Pilote n°217 page 48 " and on the back of the plate 3 VI B " Pilote 217 p 48 Fournir Bleus " and stamped Dargaud.

D. each sheet : 23,7 × 39,1 cm.
