First edition of this classic work of gastronomic literature. Published a few months before the author's death, 500 copies were printed. Provenance: Le Docteur Levavasseur bookplate repeated on the titles. Old annotations on pp. 274 and 275 of vol. 1. (Vicaire, 116; Carteret, I, 146; Oberlé, n°144).
