Portrait-frontipice of the author lithographed by Félicien Rops. 9 plates and the 2 cover illustrations lithographed by Jules Chéret, printed on japon. 50 in-t. and sometimes full-page illustrations in red, mauve or black, by Jules Chéret, Detouche, Galice, Grévin, Louis Morin, Félicien Rops, Lunel, Ranft, Van Beers, Willette. Provenance: lithographed ex-libris label by R. Chalmandrier designed by Pet'er (?). Limited edition of 25 copies on Japon (n°2). Our copy is enlarged with a suite of 11 lithographs by Jules Chéret on strong paper, captioned in black ink; a few corrections in black ink to the dedication and on 2 f. of text; 1 blank f. takes the place of an autograph title page handwritten by Félicien Champsaur with the additional note "written during the month of July 1886, in St (?) de la Mer (Bretagne).
