COSTE (Pascal). Arab architecture or monuments of Kaire, measured and drawn from 1818 to 1826. Paris, Jardin de Flore, 1978. Large folio, 52 p., plates, publisher's full tan leather binding, spine ribbed, boards decorated in gold and color in the oriental style. New edition based on the original publications of 1827 and 1839, comprising 70 plates, 9 of which are in color: interior and exterior views of mosques (Touloun, El-Azhar, Barkauk...), public buildings (fountains, drinking troughs...), private homes (barber's store...), and line-engraved plans and details (comparison of minarets...). Coste produced these drawings while directing several works in Egypt for the Pasha. Limited edition of 250 numbered copies on Japon Van Gelder paper (n°11).
