In-16, fir-green half-maroquin with corners, spine with 2 raised bands edged with gilt author's name and title, cold filets and gilt roulettes throughout, gilt head, cover, spine and witnesses preserved [Trinkvel]. First edition: one of 225 (no. 171) on Hollande Van Gelder Zonen. Handsome autograph letter from the author to Jacques Naville, explaining that the errors in this edition are its merit (they were subsequently corrected). A new edition was published by Fayard the same year. A corrective leaf inserted at the time has browned p.118 and 119. Erotic engraved bookplate with the initials "P.W".
