DU FOUILLOUX (Jacques). La vénerie... De nouveau reveuë, & augmentée du Miroir de Fauconnerie. A Rouen, chez Clément Malassis, 1650. 2 parts in 1 vol. in-4, [4]-124-[4] f. ; 38 p., period speckled brown calf, 4-nerved spine, gilt title, gilt fleururettes, scrolls and double gilt fillet surround, speckled red edges, restorations (small light spotting in margin of first five quires, light freckling). New edition of this famous treatise, published in Rouen, with the addition of Pierre Harmont's Miroir de fauconnerie, preceded by a special title page with the same address and date, and illustrated with the same woodcut hunting vignette as the general title. The work is distinguished by its rich woodcut illustrations: La vénerie features 1 title vignette, 3 headbands, 57 in-texts (four of which are full-page), 104 repeated lettrines, 43 score lines and 1 cul-de-lampe; Le miroir de fauconnerie features 1 title vignette (repeated), 1 headband, 7 in-texts, 2 lettrines and 1 cul-de-lampe. Provenance: old handwritten ex-libris Filzian (?) on title page. (Thiébaud 307).
