[Missel. Latin. 1618]. MISSALE Romanum ; ex decreto sacro-sancti concilii Tridentini restitutum. Pii Pont. Max. iussu editum et Clementis VIII auctoritate recognitum. Parisiis, apud viduas S. Nivellii, G. Chaudiere..., 1608. Two parts in one folio volume, [34] f. (including engraved title), 438-82 p., [3] f. (index, approb., errata), fig, contemporary tan basane, spine smooth and muted (spine worn and roughly rebacked, edges and corners rubbed, stains; title faded with holes repaired on v°, traces of missing tabs in margin of pp. 217-233 (Canon), q. ff. browned, brown stains on very last f.; quire Oo is only 3 f. long with no apparent lack).
Edition first privileged by Henri IV in 1596, and authorized to print in 1603. It was printed in Paris by Jamet Mettayer, and shared between the widows of six booksellers: Nivelle, Chaudière, De La Noue, M. & L. Sonnius and Chappelet.
The illustration consists of a copper-engraved title by Léonard Gaultier and 7 full-page copper-engraved figures, including one (the Crucifixion) signed by Léonard Gaultier and dated 1596.
