[Paris, Prault], 1732. 5 vol. in-12, contemporary mottled tan calf, 5-nerved spine, red title-piece, stamped tomaison, ornate caissons, red edges (minor flaws including 3 uncovered headpieces, rubbing to spines, tear to edge of one plate.
"Nouvelle édition, augmentée de quelques remarques nouvelles" [by P.-Ch. Jamet & Th. Gueulette]. It is illustrated with a title-frontispiece with a copper-engraved portrait of the author by Scotin, another unsigned portrait of Rabelais and 4 folding plates (3 views of La Devinière and a map of the Chinonois region); volume 5 also features a full-page woodcut figure of the dive bouteille.
Early signature "De La Moynerie" on the first title, initialled on the corners of subsequent titles.
