(including title and frontispiece) printed recto only, figs, contemporary fawn calf, 5-ribbed spine, red title-piece, ornate caissons, gilt fillet at edges, red edges (superf. rubbing at edges and corners, negligible worm spot on one bit). Fully engraved collection of tales, anecdotes and licentious epigrams, comprising a frontispiece and title-frontispiece engraved by Ch. Eisen after N. Le Mire, and 57 unsigned vignettes - one at the head of each leaf - offering bucolic or country scenes or figures in groups, some repeated. Cohen (521-522) and Pia (col. 700) report only 55 and 56 figures respectively. Engraved armorial bookplate of Chevalier Isambart-Nicolas de Busquet, 18th c.
