Large in-8, polished cherry half-chagrin with corners, spine with 4 nerves, gilt author and title, cold fillet, cold fillet on covers, gilt head, illustrated cover preserved. Illustrated with 20 very free, unsigned compositions, attributed to Jean Traynier, engraved with etching and burin, including a frontispiece, 5 full-page, 3 double-page, and 11 in-text. Edition hors commerce, produced at the expense of a group of bibliophiles. Limited edition of 153 copies on large-format Lana pur chiffon vellum: one of the top 20 (no. 12), including an original sketch (pen, wash and graphite), a suite of tinted engravings (in black) and a (very) free suite of 8 additional plates.
