COCTEAU, Jean. Autograph letter signed. - Lot 61

COCTEAU, Jean. Autograph letter signed. L.A.S. addressed to [Mon petit Jean, probably Jean Marais]. 9 rue vignon [Paris] no date. 1 p. in-4. Beautiful letter in which Cocteau wishes to clear up a misunderstanding with Jean [Marais]: "I didn't stop by because I was told not to, because of the family and your extreme tiredness. I love you, my little Jean, every minute I think of you and talk about you. I wasn't taking the news; I was living it, and your beautiful letter breaks my heart. Everyone's always right-but you're right in the only real zone, and the rest is a matter of codes and laws." Beautiful signature with its star. A drawing, in the Cocteau style, in pencil and crayon depicting profiles and a man in a bowler hat is enclosed (1 page in-4).
