SEGRAIS, Jean Regnault de. Segresiana ou OEuvres diverses de Mr de Segrais. Qui contient ses Mémoires Anecdotes, où l'on trouve quantité de particularités. Published in Hamburg by Chrétien Herold in 1756. Two volumes in one, format In douze / In-12 (155x90 mm). Havana marbled basane, spine ribbed, decorated with gilt filleting and gilt irons. Red edges. XXIV, 179 pages, 12 ff.n.ch. ; 1 f.n.ch. title, 255 pages, 1 f.n.ch. Binding overall rubbed with some spotting, head cap frayed, second plate split at head, title-piece partly detached. New edition, following that given in Amsterdam in 1723. It is divided into three parts: the Segresiana; Segrais's poems and his play "L'Amour guéri par le Temps"; and finally, two short novels written by the Duchesse de Montpensier, for whom Segrais was secretary. Two handwritten notes in black ink on the white endpaper explain the interest of this edition: "à conserver à cause de la table (...) qui ne se retrouve pas dans les OEuvres de Segrais, Paris, 1755, non plus que la préface de Lamonnoye". An interesting copy, well preserved.
