First edition of this study of rock art in the Algerian Hoggar massif. It was written by François de Chasseloup-Laubat, who, along with Lieutenant Coche, Roger Frison-Roche and Pierre Ichac, took part in the French alpine expedition to the Hoggar in 1935. His study is adorned with magnificent gouache illustrations by Georges Aroutunoff, based on documents collected during the expedition (photos, tracings, drawings, watercolors, measurements).
