Female Jonyeleni statue in the classical position of arms outstretched from the body, palms open wide to the front. The conical chest is finely scarified, as is the head with vertical geometric lines. A copper ring with green patina crosses the septum of the nose. Wood with a very old shaded brown patina. Bambara, Mali. H. 49.5 cm. (The ends of the feet are missing).
