Important representation of paternity. The child is hanging on the back. The head of the main character, slightly stretched backwards, is literally fantastic, built in four planes around a central ridge that extends to the mouth where small, pointed teeth can be seen. The coffee-bean eyes, slightly in relief, are set away from the nose towards the outside of the face, which ends in a pointed chin. This massive sculpture, full of angular volumes, with a strong presence reinforced by an old grey crusty patina, is one of the jewels in the Huguenin collection. Kaka, Benue region. Eastern Nigeria.
