[PARIS] SAVIGNY DE MONCORPS, René Jean Baptiste. Small Trade - Lot 246

[PARIS] SAVIGNY DE MONCORPS, René Jean Baptiste. Small Trades and Street Cries of Paris. Paris, Librairie Henri Leclerc, 1905. Small quarto, brown half-maroquin, ribbed spine, gilt head, covers intact. Binding by Pagnant. 45 pp., frontispiece. Minor scuffs from handling, spine very slightly sun-faded. First edition of this bibliophile collection in which Savigny de Moncorps (1837–1915) evokes, through a collection of publications and prints, the working-class figures who brought the streets of the capital to life: street vendors, artisans, peddlers, and other small trades whose cries set the rhythm of Parisian life. The frontispiece features a color facsimile of a drawing by Schenau depicting *La Marchande d’estampes* (The Print Seller). A fine copy, in a good signed binding.
