(the last blank), 571 p., [2] blank leaves, contemporary sow skin binding on wooden boards, four-ribbed spine and mute, boards bordered with a roulette including alternating medallion portraits and coats of arms, central plate illustrated with allegorical figures, all in cold, red edges (the figures on the lower board a little crushed, small worm tract at the head and tail of the lower spine and at the corner of the lower counterfoil), and on the corner of the lower spine, upper cover almost detached, ordinary browning). Bilingual Swiss edition offering the Greek text, and opposite the translation by the French humanist Adrian Turnèbe (1512-1565). The upper cover shows grammar, dialectics, rhetoric and arithmetic; above it are the initials "DMA", and below it the date 1588. On the lower plate there are two figures for music, and below that, another for architecture or geometry, and a last one for astronomy. Below two figures are the date 1574 and the initials "CMA". Sign. alpha] 4, a-z 8, A-M 8, N-0 4]. Some old underlining. Provenance: Oetting-Wallerstein (old armorial stamp on title). (USTC 612965).
