From the feats of arms of Henri de Rohan in the sixteenth century, to the alliances of the descendants of the nineteenth century, through the famous Affair of the Necklace which implicated the Cardinal of Rohan in the eighteenth century, there are more than a hundred biographical and genealogical records, historical studies, praise, but also literary and poetic works, which testify to the great and small history.
All of the books and documents on offer come from the descendants of Rohan-Chabot; most of them have been carefully bound, some with the arms of Rohan, and almost all have an engraved ex-libris, which gives these copies, which are haloed with the prestige of a great family, an undeniable bibliophilic interest.
All lots preceded by an asterisk * come from the Rohan-Chabot Library.
N.B. : All the red half-binding or half-basane bindings of the 19th c. have black spots (ink ?) on the leather, without gravity.
