In-8, olive-green half-basane, back with 5 nerves, title ("Jarnac et le duel") and golden fleurons (fishes), cover and parchment back preserved (back evenly faded and rubbed, spots on the top plate). Autograph signed by the author on the preserved cover (partly erased and truncated by a restoration). Provenance : spine decorated with Chabot's weapons. Enclosed : NEY (Joseph-Napoleon). The last judicial duel in France. Souvenirs from the castle of Saint-Germain. [Paris, circa 1835]. In-8, p. [931]-964, red polished half gilt with period corners, gilt title in length (small slit at the head of the upper bit, freckles). Excerpt from the Revue des deux mondes.
