Small square in-4, blue morocco, spine with 5 nerves, author, title, gilt dates, gilt fillets on the back, gilt stars on the top plate, double gilt fillets on the edges of the plates, double gilt fillets on the cups, gilt edges, large inner gilt lace [Vermorel] (stitching, small rubbing). The "Compliment" seems to have remained unpublished, intended only to be read during the ceremony: the banker Léon Lambert married Baroness Zoé de Rothschild in 1882; in 1904, Jean Stern became their son-in-law through his marriage to their daughter, Claude Lambert; "Willam et la confession" has only been reproduced in small numbers, a typewritten copy can be found at the BnF. - [Manuscript].
