[Manuscript] [Franche-Comté]. Register of debtors. 1756-1761. In-4, 121 f. In-8, contemporary brown calf, spine with 5 nerves and mute, gilt fleurons, richly decorated flats with a set of gilt irons and fleurons, (some rubbing and stains on the binding, incomplete clasps, small worm work on the upper back cover and on the first 5 f., angular wetness). If the author of this document is not identified, the manuscript can be located because of the large number of place names it contains, almost all of them located in the department of Haute-Saône: Vesoul, Saulx, Calmoutier, Dampierre-lès Montbozon, Bouhans, Vaivre et Montoille, Breurey-lès-Faverney, Montigny les Dames, Eschenoz-la-Méline and others. The author has broken down the debt book by month (from January to December), from 7f. to 10f. per month (thus, the last f. of each month are blank, except where the month is mentioned in the header and the pagination), and lists month by month the identity of the various debtors, indicating the total amount of their debt and the day of the month on which the debt must be partially settled. In the margin, it indicates the years of the partial repayments. The last 16 sheets make up the alphabetical index of debtors. Some omissions in the numbering of the slips.
