(prefaces), 320 p., 2 frontispieces, 6 plates, 75 engravings, contemporary spotted tan calf, spine with 5 nerves, garnet morocco title-piece (cracks in the spine, uncovered headpieces, 2 corners rubbed; tear in the margin of the 1st leaf, some browning, the fig. p.83 printed askew a little cut at the edge). New edition based on the Basel edition. The illustration entirely engraved on copper consists of a frontispiece, preceded by a plate with portraits of Erasmus, Th. Morus and Holbein; 6 folding plates, and 75 figures covering three quarters of a page, after compositions by Holbein.
