First edition illustrated with 60 woodcuts after André Gill, Bellenger, Clairin, M. Leloir, and also Auguste Renoir (4 of which 1 monogrammed A.R., pp. 137, 193, 273 and 369), etc... The work was published in 59 issues of 8 p., the first of which is each time a woodcut without text on the back. Only the first issue differs, with a frontispiece without text on the reverse, an in-text engraving on page 3 and an engraving with text on the reverse on p. 5. - The belly of Paris. [1879]. [2] f., 403p. (spine split, last few quires unbound). Illustrated edition with a header vignette and 44 full-page woodcut figures after André Gill, Georges Bellenger, Castelli, etc. The work was published in 51 issues of 8 p., the first of which is each time a woodcut without text on the verso (excluding issues 12, 17, 23, 25, 31, 48 and 50). Only the first issue differs, with an in-text vignette on page 1 and a full-page engraving without text on the verso on page 5. - Nana. [1882]. [2] f., 456p. First illustrated edition, decorated with 66 woodcut compositions, including 14 at the head of the chapter and 52 full-page, after compositions by André Gill, Bertall, Georges Bellenger, Bigot, Georges Clairin, J. Audy and G. Nielsen. The work was published in 57 issues of 8 p., the first of which is each time a woodcut without text on the back. Only the first issue differs, with an in-text vignette on page 1 and a full-page engraving without text on the reverse on page 5. - Pot-Bouille. [1883]. [2] f., 452p. (spine split). First illustrated edition, published only one year after the original, decorated with a vignette on the header and 57 full-page woodcut figures after Georges Bellenger and Kauffmann. The work was published in 57 issues, 56 of which were of 8 p. and the last of 4p., the first of which is each time a woodcut without text on the reverse. Only the first issue differs, with an in-text vignette on page 1 and a full-page engraving without text on the reverse on page 5. - Thérèse Raquin. Followed by Capitaine Burle. 1883. [2] f., VIII-443p. (a loose quire). Illustrated edition, with a vignette on the header and 53 full-page woodcut figures after Castelli. The work was published in 56 issues, 55 of which were of 8 p. and the last of 4 p., the first of which is, for most issues, a woodcut without text. Only the first issue differs, with an in-text vignette on page 1 and a full-page engraving without text on the verso page 5.
