Inscribed on paper pasted to the reverse "This Portrait of William Brewer Gamekeeper to the Misses Trevor was taken by especial desire of Mr William Marshal of Dunstable with a request for it to be placed in the Servants Hall at Tingrith House and never to be removed from the Hall except by special order of the Proprietor of the Establishment Wich request was kindly granted by the Misses Trevor March 24th 1854.
