We thank the Marcel-Lenoir Committee for authenticating this work and dating it to the artist's third period between 1920-1930.
In the heart of nature and the forest, in a green symbiosis, where the rock in the foreground echoes the trunks of the trees in the center of the work, this triad of female idols evokes memories of Greco-Roman mythology and the personification of the Three Graces, the daughters of Bacchus and Venus, Thalia, Euphrosyne, Aglaé, goddesses of charm, beauty, creation, in the erotic incarnation of the subject of the bathers, peaceful, radiant and luminous in their nudity, of their voluptuous, circular forms, where the curve triumphs, those offer themselves and imprison the glance, of the painter voyeur as well as that of the spectator.
This oil painting is elaborated in a quivering invoice characteristic and dear to Marcel-Lenoir in his last period.
From then on, this work imposes itself in the creation of Marcel-Lenoir as well as a miniature endowed with elegance, of a great, powerful and invincible delicacy ".
