HOURS. TRISTAN (Frédérick). Gradiva Rediviva. Fiction. Paris - Lot 78
HOURS. TRISTAN (Frédérick). Gradiva Rediviva. Fiction. Paris, Les Pharmaciens Bibliophiles, 1999. In-4, 82 p., in sheets with embossed title, in the publisher's garnet cloth slipcase.
Unpublished short story illustrated with 10 color lithographs, including 2 on double-page, by Laurent Hours. Text composed in Garamond, the Roman capitals in Augustaux typeface of Louis Perrin, property of the Blanchet printing house.
"The painting of Laurent Hours [born in 1945] is nourished by a strange atmosphere; it offers us moments of memory by telling us ancient stories made of earth, water, stone and sun. Stories of cities that have disappeared, vanished or never existed, of ochre-splashed desert-ocean. It is a warm and strong painting that, often, the sketched characters try to claim like a fringe of foam caressing the sand ". (Juliette Hours).
Printed at 180 copies numbered on vellum of Rives signed by the artist at the colophon, this one of the 30 copies reserved for the collaborators (n° XX), enriched with a suite signed by Laurent Hours.
Two other suites - these not folded -, including 4 signed plates.
Provenance : Mister Robert Blanchet, éditions d'Auteuil.
