Superb illustrated edition of this moving poem composed by Federico García Lorca as a tribute to his friend, the matador Ignacio Sanchez Mejias, mortally wounded in the bullring in 1934.
Bilingual edition, the Spanish text printed in blood red, the French text in black opposite; illustrated with a black manner for the frontispiece, an etching & 4 aquatints in cameo by Orlando Pelayo (1920-1990).
Printed at 145 numbered copies on Arches vellum, this one n°128, nominative for the printer Robert Blanchet. Enriched with two drafts of the title page not retained.
