Fourth edition of this manual by the cook and pastry chef F. Massialot (c.1660-1763), who served in particular the duc de Chartres, duc d'Orléans, duc d'Aumont, Monsieur de Livry premier maître d'hôtel du roi, marquis d'Arcy, de Louvois and de Seignelay, and who was the first to publish a cooking dictionary.
