In-8, [16] f. (including engraved title), 765 p., [93] f. (index), contemporary white vellum, smooth spine, title in ink, gilt fillets and fleurons, triple fillet, angular fleurons and central medallion with arms adorning the boards, all gilt, green satin laces (gilt a little faded on upper board; moderate foxing and browning). Scholarly edition, illustrated with a copper-engraved allegorical frontispiece by J. Vischer, and 12 vignettes in the text, notably portraits. A prize copy bearing the arms of the city of Haarlem, with the motto "Vicit vim virtus".
