[16th c. book]. QUINTILIEN. Oratoriarum institutionum libri duodecim, summa tum diligentia, tum judicio, ad vetustissimorum quorunque exemplariorum fidem recogniti. Coloniae, J. Soter excudebat, 1528. In-8, [8]-567 f., woodcut initials in the text, contemporary saddle-skin over wood, 3 ribbed spine, title in ink, cold-lettered boxes, cold-lettered boards, in the center 8 tassels surrounded by a floral frame, all edged with a roulette alternating figures including King David and evangelical figures, owner's initials IHVW and date 1546 (rel. rubbed, nerves and tail cap uncovered, corners dulled, endpapers missing, title a little soiled, with small hole as well as on the following f., browning, rare small nicks in margins, one corner replaced in margin p.389).
Woodcut bookseller's marks on title and v° of last f., large woodcut initials, one colored p.326. Careful old underlining and annotations on some twenty pages. Provenance: Eugène Stourm (ex-li bris ms. on back cover dated 1846).
