Alexander Ross (c. 1590-1654), Scottish writer and author of controversial works, opposed Hobbes in particular. He was the author of the first English translation of the Koran. New edition of the French translation of this work on world religions, originally published in 1666. It is illustrated with 16 copper-engraved folding plates, including a frontispiece.
Beautiful monastic binding bearing the date 1693.
