In-8, leaves, publisher's half-vellum folder and lined slipcase (qq. stains to slipcase and spine). 48 original woodcuts by Aristide Maillol, in the text, including one on the title and one on the cover. Translation by Amyot, revised and completed by Paul Louis Courier. Limited edition of 500 numbered copies on Maillol paper, plus a few hors commerce copies: one of the hors commerce copies marked with Roman numerals (no. CCCV). Our copy is signed by Aristide Maillol, in graphite, and includes a suite of 22 black plates. Provenance: Jacques Crépineau ex-libris label.
