CHINA (Compagnie des Indes). - Lot 48
CHINA (Compagnie des Indes). Porcelain rimmed plate with polychrome and gold decoration of alliance coat of arms in the center under a marquis crown. The rim is highlighted with a garland of flowers alternating with bust figures in rocaille cartouches. 18th century. Diameter: 23.5 cm. (Cracks). The coats of arms are those of the Breton families Visdelou de Bonamour and Boschat d'Uzel. This service was commissioned for François-César de Visdelou de Bonamour, Seigneur du Liscoët. He was Captain of the King's ship, and was promoted Chevalier de Saint-Louis. On April 11, 1755, he married Marie-Madeleine Boschat d'Uzel, daughter of Mathurin, ennobled in 1768, and Françoise Grangiens.
