Anonymous. 19th century herbarium. CIRCA 1830. In quarto / In-4 format. Romantic green morocco. Spine ribbed. Contemporary binding. Approximately 200 pages. (unpaginated) Magnificent herbarium from the 1830s, set in a Romantic-style binding in full green morocco. The boards are decorated with gilded roulettes and filleting around cold-stamped floral motifs. 5-rib spine decorated with floral-inspired gilded fillets and braces, title in gilded lettering. Gilt scrolls on the edges, gilt corner irons on the inside covers. The binding is in very good condition, apart from a few rubs and scratches and white marks at the edge of the first cover. The book contains a total of 80 species (+/- 10%), very well preserved and divided into 24 entries on colored leaves. A remarkable work, both for its originality and for its binding, typical of the Romantic period.
