Superb work illustrated with twenty-three drypoints by André Jacquemin, 7 in-text, 8 bandeaux and 8 culs-de-lampe. This great French illustrator was enthusiastic about Maurice Richard's text: "When the publisher entrusted me with this text, I was absolutely thrilled. A very personal style, the story of a decline: that of a notary's wife turned tramp, tragically ending her life one Good Friday on the Pont Neuf. "I really met 'La rapée', an old alcoholic who posed for a liter of red wine, recounting her glorious past. Limited edition of 285 copies, this one of 250 on papeteries de rives pure rag paper, bearing N°174. Clean and fresh inside. A very good copy.
