Smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets and fleurons. Speckled edges. (4)+XX+453 pages. A work by the pharmacist Antoine Augustin Parmentier (1737-1813), who promoted the consumption of potatoes in France. This work was published while he was president of the Conseil de salubrité du département de la Seine under the Consulate. Good overall condition, with a few scattered brown spots. The binding is solid and in good condition.
