Work by German physician Johann Friedrich Blumenbach (1752-1840) translated from Latin by Pugnet. Includes considerations on the body, the senses and pregnancy. This copy features a bookplate on the title naming "Josephi Clausel" and dated using the Republican calendar, as well as an inscription on the last page, as follows: "formidable on the outside, contemptible on the inside/ the senate is nothing but a mass of brigands". Very good condition; inside, bright, despite a smudge at the bottom that has no effect on the text. The later binding is intact.
