Andreu, Pierre. Notre maître, M. Sorel. - Lot 33
Andreu, Pierre. Notre maître, M. Sorel. Published in Paris by Grasset in 1953. With a letter from the author In twelve / In-12 paperback. 335 pages. First edition on current paper, with mention of the first printing on the "achever d'imprimer", despite a mention of the second edition on the second cover. Preface by Daniel Halévy. Beautiful, friendly autograph letter from Pierre Andreu on the full title page: "to Paul Beauvais, who knows me and reads me, and who has known me for a long time about this book, which is now thirty years old and which, I hope, may yet bear some fruit". Paperback in-12, first cover unclipped (held together by a thread on the sewn spine), spine yellowed, inside fresh and complete with portraits of Georges Sorel at different times in his life. Uncommon copy with dispatch, on this thinker of action, close to revolutionary syndicalism.
