Final proofs of the book published by Grasset in 1922: Echantillons, a translation of the writings of Ramon Gomez de la Serna by Valery Larbaud, who wrote a presentation, and Mathilde Pomès. On the title page and several times in the quires that make up the set, we find the printer's stamp "F. Paillart / Abbeville / November 27, 1922." On page 16, in the hand of Mathilde Pomès, the postal address and name of Jules Supervielle. On page 152, a handwritten note probably from the printer: "cliché commandé" under the mention of a diagram. Leaves in-12, paper yellowed, otherwise in good condition. Complete with publisher's band on pink paper, depicting a portrait of Gomez de la Serna accompanying this text: "Here are translated for the first time SAMPLES of the work of one of the young Spanish writers most worthy of European renown".
