Letters from Denis de Rougemont to Daniel Halévy - Lot 230
Letters from Denis de Rougemont to Daniel Halévy Set of three signed autograph letters (LAS) from Denis de Rougemont, each addressed to the French man of letters Daniel Halévy, each declining an appointment. Dated June 30, 1938, January 11, 1939 and July 10, 1939, each declines an appointment with Halévy, due to "various little annoyances of the last hour" (1st page in-4), a setback: "a change in the date of the lecture I am to give in Basel obliges me to leave Paris" (1st page in-8) and finally "I am sorry to have missed this opportunity to see you again and to make the acquaintance of Madame Bespaloff" (1st page in-4). Charming set of letters from Swiss writer Denis de Rougement during his years in Paris.
