In-octavo / In-8 (210x135 mm) format for the text, and In-quarto/ In-4 (275x205 mm) format for the atlas. Green half calf, gilt ribbed spine (for the text). Petrol-blue half-basane, smooth spine with gilt false nerves (for the atlas). XVI- 646 pages. 20 plates showing different ways of tying a bandage, depending on the wound and its location. Fairly good overall condition, bindings rubbed, corners dulled. Headcap of text volume worn. Staining to corners of some plates, worm work to margins of plates 16 to 20. Erroneous numbering of plate XIV, marked as plate XII. Complete two-volume first edition, with atlas, of Pierre Nicolas Gerdy's Traité des bandages.
