Published in Montpellier by the author and the medical school in 1801. In 4 volumes of In octavo / In-8 format. Half brown basane. Spines decorated with gilt fillets, irons, author, title and tomaison. Speckled edges. 406-(1); 474-(1); 584; 499 pages. Rubbing, one partially split spine on each volume, some white marks on boards, corners crushed and some bare. Occasional foxing and spotting, not serious. First edition of this work by Jean-Baptiste Timothée Baumes (1756-1828), who proposes a clinical nosology as the basis for the methodical science of diseases. Complete set in 4 volumes. Good condition overall, with clean, fresh interiors.
