One of the most important works by Amédée Bonnet (1809-1858, surgeon at the Hôtel-Dieu in Lyon, member of the Académie de Médecine and one of the precursors of orthopedic surgery). This treatise had a major impact from the outset, as it sets out new methods for treating strabismus, myopia, eye fatigue, stuttering, clubfoot, knee deformities, torticollis, jaw clenching, fractures and more. It is followed by a memoir on neurotomy-cutaneous, accompanied by an atlas of 16 plates illustrating the operations. Uncut copy. Fairly clean inside, despite some foxing; plates very well preserved.
