Published in Paris by Le Prieur in 1817. 3 volumes in In douze / In-12 format. Mahogany wove calf. Smooth spine decorated with gilt irons, gilt title and tomaison on red morocco, gilt roulettes on the edges, red speckled edges, marbled paper endpapers. IV-308 ; 292 ; 256-VI pages, decorated with 31 black and white figures, including a frontispiece in volume I, and 2 folding maps in volumes 1 and 3. Three damaged headpieces. Slight and rare foxing. Fourth edition, complete in 3 volumes, of this history of the discovery and conquest of America for the use of young people, which follows the Nouveau Robinson, translated from German by Joachim Heinrich Campe. Handwritten bookplate on the first white endpapers. Beautiful set, uniformly bound.
