Joints a little tired, edges and corners rubbed, slight soiling at beginning and end of volumes. First edition of this French literary classic. Complete with errata and publisher's catalog at the end of the second volume. Handwritten ex-dono dated 1812 in Latin opposite the title pages. Handwritten bookplates "A. Bailly" and stamped bookplate "Bernard Blacque Bélaix" "Rare and sought-after in contemporary binding" (Carteret, I, 162).
