(2) ff., III, 506 pp. ; (2) ff., 431 pp. pages. First edition of this biography of Sophie Swetchine, Russian woman of letters. Count de Falloux, a close friend of Swetchine's, subsequently published two volumes of her letters in 1862. A good, complete and well-established copy. Vicair III col. 644.
