First edition. Three volumes in In-8 format. Red half-basin. Smooth spine decorated with gilt faux nerfs. 430, 440 and 390 pages, as well as 20 engraved plates. Some rubbing, notably to the lower endpapers, dull corners, otherwise very good condition. A lovely, complete late-Romantic Provencal work, covering the entire history of this region from the 8th century to the Restoration. In addition to wood-engraved lettering, headbands and tailpieces, the volumes contain 20 full-page etchings, including a frontispiece portrait of the author.
