Smooth spine decorated with faux nerfs and gilt irons. 380+428+352 pages, 11 steel-engraved plates and a frontispiece. Joints tired. Some rubbing. Upper hinge of first volume fragile, upper cap of third volume gone. Very fine illustrated edition of Victor Hugo's famous novel, the first since the original 1831 edition.
