[LIVRE D'HEURES] Messe de Mariage (Wedding Mass), no place, no date (circa 1881), one volume, In-12, full ebony morocco. Spine ribbed. First plate decorated with the brass monogram "TB" (Thérèse de Blois), surmounted by a comtal crown. Contreplats framed with wide gilt lace. Blue moiré silk endpapers. Double gilt fillet on edges. Gilt edges. Bound by Auguste Bouet. 6 blank pages and 1 title page, 26 ruled pages (mass) and 70 pages decorated with illuminated frames, including 5 full-page pious illustrations, all mounted on tabs. Lettering and text in black and red. The slipcase is damaged, but the book is in very good condition. A superb work of illumination hand-drawn and painted by Madame de Mizzi for the marriage of her daughter Thérèse to Count Adrien Marie de Blois de la Calande in 1881. Slipped into the volume: two illuminated religious bookmarks with handwritten ex-dono on verso. Handwritten bookplate Thérèse de Blois and stamp of the Rocher bookshop (26 faubourg Saint-Honoré). A precious and touching wedding gift.
